Mary Kathryn Murphy, 63, of Wadena, passed away after a lengthy illness on Jan. 10, 2010, at her home.
Mary was born Nov. 29, 1946 to Louis Henry and Leota Theresa (Schroedl) Plautz in Perham. She was united in marriage with James Murphy on March 26, 1966 in Wadena. Taking care of her family, friends and her home were her priorities. Her hobbies included fishing, visiting a casino, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed being with her family.
Memorial services were set for 11 a.m. on Jan. 16 in the Johnson Memorial Home Chapel in Wadena, with the Rev. Donald Wagner officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Yad Killian, Shawn Killian, Cody Yglesias, Brody Yglesias, Robert Kasper, Chris Plautz and Travis Pingree. Survivors include her children, Michael Murphy of Las Vegas, Nev., and Michelle (Scott) Johnson of Zimmerman; grandchildren, Madison and Tanner Johnson; brother and sisters, George (Pam) Plautz of St. Cloud, Brenda (Gary) Kasper and Debbie (Rudy) Yglasias, both of Wadena, and Diane (Lowell) Pingree of Coon Rapids, Minn.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James, on Nov. 2, 2005; her parents, Louis and Leota; and sister, Sandra Killian on Nov. 24, 2009.
