Marven Tellers

Marven Hubert Tellers, 85, formerly of Bluffton, died Sept. 1, 2009, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

He was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Bluffton, Peter and Marie (Goeller) Tellers. He was a member of the Crosier Community at the Onamia Priory.

The Rev. Tellers joined the Crosier Order's novitiate in 1943, making his first profession of religious vows on Aug. 28, 1944. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 3, 1950, in Hastings, Neb. He served the Order and the Church in academia as a teacher, prefect of discipline, and school administrator in Wawasee and Fort Wayne, Ind. He was elected Prior in Wawasee in 1962. He also served in parochial ministry at parishes in Three Rivers, White Pigeon, Bridgman, Coldwater, and Kalamazoo, Mich. His final assignments before retirement were to the Parishes of Holy Spirit in St. Cloud and St. Odilia in Shoreview, Minn.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Priory Church of the Holy Cross in Onamia, Minn. Survivors include his brother, Art Tellers (Jeanne) of Wadena, and his Crosier confreres.
