Mark Alan Snyder, 56, of Lancaster, Calif., formerly of Deer Creek, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at his home.
He was born in Wadena on Jan. 22, 1953, to Nick and Esther (Gedde) Snyder. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Bluffton through the sixth grade. He graduated from Deer Creek High School with the class of 1971. He served his country in the Marines from 1971-73. He worked at Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, Calif., for 27 years as a logistic analyst. He enjoyed trips back to Minnesota, sharing his passion of photography and the outdoors. But most of all, he loved the moments spent with his family and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 1, at Sacred Heart Church in Lancaster, Calif. Pallbearers were Tom Snyder, Vern Snyder, Roy Alcantara, Romy Gatchalian, Jose Gomez and Bob Stefano. Military honors were provided by the Marine Corps. Interment was in Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster, Calif. Online condolences can be left at www.dignity.mem.com.
Survivors include his wife, Oyie; daughters, Jessica (Jose), Katelin and Bobbi; four grandchildren; brothers, Roger, Nick, Tom (DeAnna), Vern (Marilyn); sister, Carol; sister-in-law, Barb; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ron and Pete.
