The funeral service for Marie Busch of Wadena will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014, at the Johnson-Schuller Chapel in Wadena. Friends may call at the Johnson-Schuller Chapel on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Marie passed away at the age of 96, on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, MN.
Marie Busch was born to Rudolph and Lillian (Kreutzer) Kohlhase on April 1, 1917, in Bertha, MN. She was united in marriage with Carl Rook Busch on December 22, 1937, in Bertha. Carl worked at Drake University and after his retirement in 1984 they moved to Wadena. As a homemaker she loved gardening, and had a talent for excellent seamstress work and quilting. She was Chairman of the Faculty Wives at Drake University in Des Moines, IA, and participated in PEO and United Methodist Women. Most of all, Marie was a loving mother and grandmother.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on February 5, 1998; her parents Rudolph and Lillian; and brothers Bob and Philip Kohlhase.
She is survived by her sons Allyn (Bonnie) Busch of Tucson, AZ, Neal Busch of Yankton, SD, and David (Linda) Busch of Colleyville, TX; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother David (Kim) Kohlhase of Bertha; and sister Ruth (Len) Messer of Wadena.
Pallbearers will be Allyn Busch, Neal Busch, David Busch, Randle Busch, Gary Messer and Donald Messer.
Burial will be at Wadena Cemetery.
