Margaret L. Thorstenson, 86, of Fargo, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at Innovis Hospital.
Margaret Leona Schulz was born March 11, 1923, in Perham, daughter of William and Bertha (Marshall) Schulz. She graduated from high school after her children were grown.
Margaret married Edward J. Thorstenson Nov. 30, 1942, at Ottertail. Margaret worked as a school bus driver for area school districts for 35 years. She retired in 1988. Margaret was an active member at Grace Lutheran Church and school. She was active in Cub Scouts and Camp Fire with her children.
A memorial service was set for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo. Visitation is from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2. at the church, and a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be at a later date. Survivors include her three daughters, Anita (Doug) Dowell, Coarsegold, Calif., Audrey (James) Nitschke, and Alice (Darrold) Engel, both of Fargo; two sons, Lyle (Pamela) Thorstenson, Nacogdoches, Texas, and Les (Sarah) Thorstenson, Wadena; two brothers, James (Eona) Schulz, Lacey, Wash., and Kenneth (Jackie) Schulz, Kent, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; and nine and a half great-grandchildren. Margaret was loving, caring and touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Hilda Curtis and Ethel Heino; and brother, Harold Schulz.
