Funeral services for Margaret Packard, a resident of the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa and formerly of Bertha, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the Wrightstown United Methodist Church at Wrightstown with with Pastors J.C. Duncan, Mark Bateson and Shirley Nelson presiding. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha and at the church on Wednesday from 12:30 PM until the time of services at the church. Margaret passed away at the Care Center in Clarissa on Saturday, April 12, 2014.

Margaret was born to William and Nellie (Perkins) Bryce on November 15, 1915, in Woodside Township, Otter Tail County, MN. On July 15, 1945, Margaret was united in marriage with Frank Walter Packard at the United Methodist Church in Wrightstown. As a homemaker, her hours were filled with cooking, gardening, writing poetry, and making rugs. She enjoyed her friendships with fellow members of the American Legion Auxiliary, Historical Society, Homemakers Club, Garden Club, Lydia Circle, Bible Study group, and at the Senior Citizens Center. She was an active member of the Church of God in Bertha, United Methodist Church in Wrightstown and Canyon Community Church in Arizona. She moved to Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa on June 22, 2009 where she received very loving care.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Frank on May 20, 1997; parents William & Nellie, son Fr. Nathan Packard; brother George Bryce; sister Marie Bryce; brother-in-law Sidney Packard; and sisters-in-law Eunice Bryce and Bernice Packard.

She is survived by Arthur (Diane) Packard of Hewitt, Walter (Janell) Packard of Bertha, Lester (Phyliss) Packard of Kingman, AZ and Danie (Lynda) Packard of Thief River Falls; daughter Florabel Packard of Show Low AZ; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Margarets grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Timothy Packard, Christopher Packard, Russ Packard, Zane Packard, Ray Packard and William Packard.

Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery in Wrightstown, MN.
