Man faces two violence-related court cases on heels of March conviction
A Wadena County man was charged with assault and domestic abuse after two run-ins with a woman.
According to court documents, Christopher John Ehrmantraut, 23, argued with a woman April 11 at a residence in Sebeka. The victim told police she believed Ehrmantraut was drunk and high on meth when he punched her in the head, slammed her head in the floor causing a concussion and dislocated jaw, and held a sharp object to her throat and said, "If you want to die I can take care of that."
Eleven days later, the same woman said she had to barricade herself and her child in a room to keep Ehrmantraut from harming them, leading to the child still having nightmares from the event.
The following day, April 23, the woman received an order for protection. According to court documents, Ehrmantraut violated that OFP.
Ehrmantraut faces charges of third-degree assault -- substantial bodily harm, terroristic threats and domestic abuse. He has a previous felony assault conviction from March 10, 2009.
In a second court file, Ehrmantraut was charged with domestic abuse - violates order for protection, fleeing a peace officer and obstructing the legal process.
