Man charged for Bell Hill altercation in April
Jessie Earle Horton, 47, of Wadena, was charged April 30 with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon after an altercation at Bell Hill Recovery Center.
On or about April 9, 12:33 a.m., a deputy responded to Bell Hill Recovery Center regarding an assault with a weapon, court documents said. A witness overheard Horton arguing with another man, and heard the other man ask the defendant, "What are you going to do, hit me or stick me?"
The alleged victim told authorities that Horton had pulled out a six-inch knife and said, "I'll cut your throat with it." The victim said the defendant said three or four times that he was going to cut the man.
Staff at Bell Hill allegedly asked the defendant for the knife and he surrendered it to them.
Horton's first appearance was set for May 4 in Wadena County District Court.
