Man with baseball bat, threats faces charges
A Wadena man faces charges of fifth-degree assault and terroristic threats after allegedly trying to enter a woman's residence armed with a baseball bat.
Trevor Adam Borchardt, 31, was charged June 19 in Wadena County District Court with the crimes.
On June 17, Wadena police were summoned to a residence on Second Street Southwest on a report of a man standing at the front door of the home, banging on the door, yelling, screaming, making threats and holding a baseball bat, court documents said. A woman and two children were inside the residence.
Police believe Borchardt, also known as "Rev," was looking for a man who he thought owed him money from an alleged drug deal, court document said. When Borchardt was arrested, officers allegedly recovered stolen property from previous thefts and burglaries. That investigation is ongoing, police said.
