Mackner to lead Minnesota Optometric Association
Dr. Jeffrey Mackner, Pelican Rapids, has been elected president-elect of the Minnesota Optometric Association at the association's annual meeting in Minneapolis. Mackner, vice president of the MOA in 2009, has been a member of the MOA Board of Trustees since 2005.
He has been practicing for more than 20 years. Mackner is an optometrist at Pelican Rapids Eye Clinic. He and his partners, Dr. Tim Neitzke and Dr. Bill Hartman, have five offices, with locations in Pelican Rapids, Perham, Wadena, Long Prairie and Barnesville, Minn.
Mackner's service to his profession goes back more than 10 years. He was named Young OD of the year in 1996 and OD of the Year in 1998 by the MOA. He is a past chair of the MOA Education Committee and currently serves as MOA Board Liaison to the Education Committee. Mackner is a member of the Pelican Rapids Lions Club and assists with the Boy Scouts Program in Pelican Rapids.
Mackner received his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University, Forest Grove, Ore.
