M State Wadena commencement set for May 7

Graduating students at M State Wadena will take part in commencement at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 7 in the Wadena-Deer Creek High School Gymnasium. The public is invited to attend.

Dr. Virginia Dahlstrom will serve as keynote speaker for the ceremony. Dahlstrom was raised in rural Wisconsin and began her education career at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. For the past 34 years, she has worked in education as a teacher, administrator, and superintendent, including six years abroad in Asia and the Middle East. Dahlstrom is currently the superintendent at Wadena-Deer Creek public schools.

M State Wadena Student Senate President Roy Salo will represent the graduating class by speaking at the ceremony. Salo will graduate from the College's Construction Electricity program. Dr. Ann Valentine, M State president; Dr. Barry Lane, M State vice president of learning services; and Monty Johnson, M State Wadena dean of academic affairs and student services, will be stage participants in the ceremony. A reception in the campus cafeteria commons will follow the program.
