M State, Rural Minnesota CEP partner to help dislocated workers
M State Wadena has teamed with Rural Minnesota CEP to provide financial and job training informational sessions to help dislocated workers make big changes.
"Change Your Life" sessions outlining the educational options for dislocated workers are scheduled at the M State campuses on the following dates: May 14 in Wadena (with Central Lakes College); May 18 in Detroit Lakes; May 19 in Moorhead; and May 20 in Fergus Falls. Financial session begins at noon. Please arrive early for registration in the campus commons area.
Dislocated workers may qualify for government grants and assistance that will make it possible to enroll in career training programs at M State. In addition to money for college tuition and books from CEP, funds may be available for rent, child care and heating assistance from other sources.
The Change Your Life sessions offer the opportunity to meet with representatives from Rural Minnesota CEP, social services, M State financial aid and North Dakota Job Service (at the Moorhead session). Session participants can learn about the educational programs available on M State's four campuses and visit with instructors about specific programs. Participants can also hear from adult students currently enrolled in college and find out how they have become successful students, and meet with employers to learn about their short- and long-term industry needs.
