Lucille "Luci" Mary Karlson, 62, of Wadena, passed away Dec. 19, 2009, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She was born on May 5, 1947 to Stanley and Ruth Stemson in Oylen. Luci loved seeing and spending time with her family -- especially her grandkids, who were very dear to her. She took much pride in her role as a caregiver to the residents at the Oakridge Homes Jefferson house and proudly called all of the residents at the home her "kids." Luci loved all things bear, angel, and rose, having a vast collection of items ranging from pictures to figurines and everything in between. She truly enjoyed listening to country music, but most of all Luci liked to shop!
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 22 in the Zion Free Lutheran Church in Wadena with the Rev. Jeremy Vance officiating. Honorary pallbearer was Paul Maki. Pallbearers were Rob Stemson, Jerry Karlson, Bob Karlson, Aaron Karlson, Austin Karlson, and Jack Karlson. Interment will be at a later date in Leaf River Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena (www.johnsonmemorialhome.com).
Survivors include her mother, Ruth Stemson of Wadena; sons, Jerry (Jessie) Karlson of Wadena, and Bob Karlson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; six grandchildren, Aaron, Christian, Anniah, Jack, Kandi and Austin; brother, Rob (Janet) Stemson of Washington; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; several cousins and numerous friends.
