Lorraine Albina (Irsfeld) Stave, 78, of Verndale, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
She was born May 15, 1930, to Henry and Mary (Lamusga) Irsfeld in Browerville. She married Gerald "Jerry" Ivan Stave on Nov. 4, 1954, in Browerville. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for his plumbing business. She was a member of the Verndale Senior Citizens Center and was active with church activities. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, and needlework. She especially loved attending all of her grandchildren's activities, and dancing and watching the Minnesota Twins with Jerry.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 17, at St. Frederick's Catholic Church in Verndale with the Rev. Michael Kellogg as celebrant. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott and Nancy Thorpe, Tyler Fisher, Patrick Vacek, and Benjamin Bramer. Pallbearers will be Amy Desrocher, Chris Bramer, Jessica Desrocher, Eric Bramer, Melissa Stave, Matthew Desrocher, Andy Bramer, Kelly Stave and Kory Stave. Interment will be in the St. Frederick's Catholic Cemetery in Verndale. Arrangements are with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena (www.johnsonmemorialhome.com).
Survivors include her son, Wayne (Sheila) of Verndale; daughters, Sharon (Bert) Wutzke of Aldrich, and Patricia (John) Desrocher of Verndale; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene (Irma) Irsfeld of Browerville, George (Jeannette) Irsfeld of Browerville, and Larry (Delores) Irsfeld of Hugo; and sister, Marge (Marvin) Peterson of Long Prairie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, in September 2007; and her parents, Henry and Mary.
