Long-time Mason dies at 103
Wadena resident Clarence Horn, a member of many service organizations, died on July 13 at the age of 103.
Horn was born in Verndale. During his life he worked at several Wadena businesses including Kal's Kars, Nightengale Motors and Jim Larson Ford and Ken Stuntebeck Ford. He also had two grocery stores and was a wholesale grocery salesman for Steinkraus Wholesale Grocery Warehouse.
Horn had memberships in many organizations including the Wadena Elks, the Wadena Chamber of Commerce and the Wadena United Methodist Church.
He received a rare honor in February 2007 when he received special recognition for his 80 years of membership with the Masons. Minnesota Masonic Grandmaster Steve Johnson presented Horn with a certificate and a grandmaster pin in a ceremony at Fair Oaks Lodge where a crowd of family, friends and fellow Masons gathered to celebrate his achievement. They shared memories of Horn's dedication to the Wadena Masonic Lodge, his involvement in Shriners parades and his love of golfing with his friends into his 90s.
