Long Prairie police seek help in robbery case
On Wednesday, March 28 at approximately 7:58 p.m., the Long Prairie Police Department responded to a reported robbery at the Long Prairie Oil Company. Upon investigation, police learned that three vehicles stopped at the business and inquired about getting a bad tire changed on a white Cadillac Escalade with a Wisconsin license plate. The other two vehicles were described as a Gray Jaguar with a Wisconsin license plate and a light green older Dodge Caravan with a left side sliding door window broken out and is covered in plastic.
The suspects were described as three black males and two black females with possibly some children. The suspects distracted the lone employee by having him take the tire off the vehicle and put a different size tire back on the vehicle which would not work on the vehicle. The group then left southbound on U.S. Highway 71. When the lone employee went back into the business he discovered that cash and checks were taken from the cash register.
The Long Prairie Police Department is investigating along with several other agencies. Anyone with information on this crime please contact the police department at (320) 732-2156.
