Stangeland and Ludeman met Wadena Republicans at Richter fundraiser
Over 150 area Republicans gathered at a fundraiser for Representative Don Richter and heard brief remarks from Congressman Arlan Stangeland and gubernatorial candidate Cal Ludeman.
Ludeman told the crowd that the price for lower inflation has been paid by agriculture but said there is hope and opportunity for the future.

Marijuana plants found in Lyons Township
The Wadena County Sheriff's Office reported it found nine cultivated plants of marijuana on state land located in Lyons township, Wadena County, Aug. 19, 1971.
Blueberry pickers informed authorities of seeing the plants on state-owned land in that area of the county and were suspicious that it was marijuana.
The bouquet of nine marijuana plants discovered by county authorities has a sharp pungent odor.

Wadena population jumps 1,042; county -- only 34
Wadena County gained 34 people in the past 10 years, while Wadena itself added 1,042.
That's the most remarkable conclusion to be drawn from the official 1950 census figures, released Tuesday by Carter Stedman, county auditor.
Aldrich village was not formed until 1938, so that no 1930 census was possible. Neither 1930 nor 1940 figures are available for Nimrod, since that village was incorporated from part of Orton township in 1946.
