Liquor store losing more
Losses widened at the Verndale liquor stores in March, according to reports filed by Liquor Store Manager Linda Forcier and Interim Highway 10 Store Manager Gary Rosenthal.
The downtown liquor store lost $6,980 in March, compared with a profit of $167 in February and a loss of $5,115 in January. The fund balance dropped to $39,452. When January began, that store's fund was at $51,381.
The U.S. Highway 10 operation lost $5,020 in March, compared with losses of $3,351 in February and $468 in January. The fund balance for that store surpassed $100,000 in the hole, at a total of $100,032 in the red.
