Law firm moves across town
A long-running law firm in Wadena has a new location on U.S. Highway 10.
After occupying a brick house on South Jefferson Street, Kennedy, Carlson and VanBruggen, LLP is now at 116 Ash Ave. NW next to Dairy Queen and in the same building as Quality Auto Body and Glass. The site has been newly remodeled as a ground-level office, and they recently received the community Pride Award from the Chamber of Commerce.
An open house will be held in late April for members of the public who want to see the new building.
Attorneys Paul Carlson and Matthew Van Bruggen said the new location has several advantages: easy to reach because of its location on U.S. Highway 10, easier parking - the lot is on the west side of the Dairy Queen - and the single ground level is ADA accessible.
"We're extremely proud of this," Van Bruggen said. "The response has just been overwhelmingly positive."
They said the new location was more efficient and better suits the needs of both the firm and their clients.
The firm also has added a Park Rapids location to its existing Wadena and Menahga locations which they have had for years.
"We just opened an office up there on Jan. 1 of this year," Carlson said.
The other lawyers include senior attorney Charles Kennedy and associate attorney Malcolm Whynott.
The full service firm's practice areas, according to its website, include personal injury, family law, real estate law, alternative dispute resolution, wills trusts and probate, and business law.
"We've been serving Wadena for over 100 years," Van Bruggen said.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment.
