Langemo celebrates 50-year anniversary of ordination
Pastor Martin Langemo recently celebrated the 50-year anniversary of his ordination. Langemo (son of the late Martin and Mildred Langemo of Deer Creek) graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod in Springfield, Ill. and was ordained at Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek on June 14, 1964. His first call was to Greensboro, N.C. to start a mission congregation, Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. From there, he served in five churches in Minnesota: Grace Lutheran in Chisolm, St. John Lutheran in Wheaton, Nicolai Lutheran in Canby, Immanuel Lutheran in Silver Creek and Zion Lutheran in Little Falls. He retired from there in August of 2004 and he and his wife, Carol, moved to Princeton, Minn.
Since then, he has been a chaplain at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids, serving part time and also preaching at different churches on some Sundays. Langemo and his wfe are blessed with six children: Marty (Janine), Judy (Dan), Jim (Dreya), Mary (Soli), David (Drew) and Tom (Rhea), as well as seven grandchildren.
