Lakewood hosting 'Easing the Pain'
Lakewood Health System's Dr. Kathy Riordan, Rheumatologist, will speak at 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7 on a variety of rheumatology topics during a presentation called "Easing the Pain -- Answers about Arthritis." The discussion is part of the 2009 HealthBEAT speaking series at Lakewood Health System.
Riordan will discuss the differences between osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis and how each is diagnosed, treated and managed. In addition, Riordan will cover the topics of fibromyalgia pain and the effects of Vitamin D on health. The discussion will take place at Lakewood Health System's Main Campus in the lower level classrooms.
Riordan joined Lakewood Health System in August 2008 and practices Monday through Thursday at the Staples Clinic. Starting in January of 2010, Riordan will also be taking clinic appointments at Lakewood's Pillager Clinic. Riordan is an expert in the research and treatment of rheumatic diagnoses including back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia and gout.
