Lakewood Foundation Announces Grant Awards
The Lakewood Health System Foundation Board of Directors recently awarded $5,504 in grants in support of local programs and initiatives.
Among the programs receiving awards were the Staples Police Department, Parents Are Committed to Kids (P.A.C.K.), Verndale Fire and Rescue Department, Central Lakes College, Cass County Farm Bureau, Staples Friends of the Trails and Browerville School. The grants will go towards projects including child sexual abuse forensic tools, rubber playground tiles, pocket masks for first responders, kangaroo pump, safety day camp, trails designation and a portable scoreboard.
The Lakewood Health System Foundation was established in 1994. Its mission is to provide the opportunity to preserve and enhance health and wellness for the hospital and the communities we serve, by encouraging the support of our Foundation through charitable gifts.
Grant requests are reviewed by the Foundation Endowment Board.
