"She hits the ball a long way and she's a smart player," WDC coach Melissa Tabery said of her senior golfer.

Krause is joined on the 2010 team by five returning letterwinners -- sophomores Amanda Kramer and Breanna Speed and eighth graders Ella Harrison, Paige Hartman and Heather Theisen.

Other varsity candidates are junior Kelsey Browne, New York Mills freshman Jackie Imsande and seventh grader Rachel Wing.

"I'm hoping we can break 400 this year," Tabery said. "I don't know much about our new section yet."

The Wolverines will open their season Friday, April 16 at Perham.
