Koskie to play in alumni game
The St. Cloud River Bats have recently announced that former Minnesota Twin Corey Koskie has been added to the roster for their second annual Twins Alumni Game on Friday, Aug. 21 in St. Cloud.
Koskie played nine major league seasons from 1998-2006. In seven seasons with the Twins, Koskie compiled a batting average of .280 and played in a total of 816 games.
Koskie will be joined by 17 other former Minnesota Twins players who are participating in this event presented by Cold Spring Brewing Co. and the Central Minnesota Miracle League. The other Twins players scheduled to attend the event are: Juan Berenguer, Jarvis Brown, Dave Goltz, Shane Gunderson, Steve Huls, Steve Lombardozzi, Rick Lysander, Al Newman, Tony Oliva, Tom Quinlan, Brian Raabe, Bobby Randall, Gary Serum, Terry Steinbach, Sebeka graduate Dick Stigman, Greg Thayer, and Geoff Zahn.
For the second consecutive year this event will be held in conjunction with a fundraiser for the Central Minnesota Miracle League project, which is currently raising funds for the construction of a baseball field to be built for children with special needs.
