Keith Duane Pajari, 64, of New York Mills, passed away Aug. 6, 2008, at Merit Care Hospital in Fargo.

He was born on Aug. 13, 1943, in Wadena, to William C. and Violette Lucille (Kojonen) Pajari. He grew up in New York Mills, and attended school in New York Mills and graduated with the class of 1961. He attended the University of Minnesota for a year, then was employed by the Highway Department in Detroit Lakes for a short time. He was employed with the Iron Workers as a welder in Minneapolis. On Oct. 7, 1967, he married Delores Ann Jakubiec at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Crystal, Minn. Their marriage was blessed with five children. They moved to Spokane, Wash., from 1970 to 1972, then returned to New York Mills. He was employed at Tuffy's and farmed. He also continued welding and taught welding at New York Mills High School. He was then employed at Lund Boats for more than 25 years, retiring in May 2007. He enjoyed his family very much, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports. He was a member of the American Legion.

Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Aug. 9, at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham with the Rev. Joe Herzig officiating. The pallbearers were Kenneth Tervola, Richard Lausten, Gerald Muckala, Ron Ehnert, David Bauck, Alex Pajari, Tad Pary and Lapene Maijala. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Pary and Robert Pary. Military honors were provided by Charles D. Center VFW Post 3289 of New York Mills. He will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery in New York Mills. Arrangements were provided by the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home in New York Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Pajari of New York Mills; his sons, Scott (Randi) Pajari of New York Mills; Jeff Pajari of Columbia Heights; Bradley (Amy) Pajari of Hanover; Brian (Melissa) Pajari of St. Cloud; Eric (Michelle) Pajari of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; other relatives; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Violetta.
