Jennifer "Jen" Leigh Mindermann, 37, of New York Mills, passed away peacefully Aug. 22, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at her sister's home in New York Mills.
She was born June 18, 1972, in Minneapolis, along with her twin sister, Jean, to Terry and Lynn (Ruona) Anderson. She and Jean were baptized together on Dec. 1, 1974, and confirmed on June 7, 1987, at the Congregational Church in Detroit Lakes. She grew up in Detroit Lakes and graduated in 1990 from DLHS. She just acquired her degree as a health information specialist and was employed at St. Mary's Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes. In the past, she was employed at Lund Boat Co., Wadena County DAC, and at various other places. On June 9, 1992, she married Rodney Lillis in Sisseton, S.D., and they were married for 8 years. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Terry and Matthew. She married Daniel Allen Mindermann on Sept. 30, 2000, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening, snowmobiling, camping and traveling. She simply loved the outdoors, going to WeFest and picking on her family and friends.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Detroit Lakes, with the Rev. Mark Kuether officiating. Arrangements were provided by the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home in New York Mills (www.karvonenfuneralhome.com).
Survivors include her husband, Dan Mindermann of New York Mills; her sons, Terry and Matthew Lillis of New York Mills; her parents, Terry and Lynn Anderson of Detroit Lakes; sister, Jean and Ken Landin of New York Mills; father- and mother-in-law, John and Lillian Mindermann of New York Mills; grandparents, Wayne A. Ruona of Detroit Lakes and Velma Anderson of Bloomington, Minn.; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alvin O. Anderson and Lorraine L. Ruona; and an aunt, Gwen Ruona.
