The Mass of Christian Burial for Jeff Lehmkuhl, age 57 of Wadena, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena with Father Arlie Sowada as celebrant. Friends may call at the St. Ann’s Parish Center in Wadena on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 5 p.m. and parish prayers at 6 p.m. Visitation continues on Thursday from 12:30 until the time of Mass at the church. Jeff passed away after a strong and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 57 at St. Mary's Hospital and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. on Saturday, June 8, 2013.

Jeffrey Herbert Lehmkuhl was born on December 24, 1955, to Herbert and Mary (Richter) Lehmkuhl at Wesley Hospital in Wadena. He graduated with the Wadena High School Class of 1973.

Jeff and Janet McGrane were united in marriage on June 11, 1977 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena. After furthering his education he found his livelihood as a mechanic and auto body repairman. Jeff was an overall handyman. His spare time was filled with hunting, fishing, and restoring old cars. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family, especially grandchild Jarrett.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father Herb, nephew Michael Lehmkuhl, father-in-law Leonard McGrane, mother-in-law Catherine McGrane, brother-in-law Kenneth McGrane and sister-in-law Karen McGrane.

He is survived by his dedicated and loving family, wife Janet of Wadena; sons Adam Lehmkuhl of Monticello and Andrew (Taylar) Lehmkuhl of Brainerd; daughter Heather (Chris Emerson) Lehmkuhl of Sauk Centre; grandchild Jarrett Lehmkuhl; mother Mary Lehmkuhl of Wadena; brothers Steve of Wadena, Terry (Darla) of Chanhassen, Dan (Maryln) of Carlos, Gerard of Wadena, and Brent (Amy) of Isanti; sisters Sue (Joe) Parker of Otsego, Mary Miller of Cumming, Ga., Kathy (Dave) Breuer of Montrose, Nancy (Rob) Uselman of Ponte Vedra, Fl., Jackie Lehmkuhl of St. Cloud, and Monica Lehmkuhl-Snyder of Avon; brother-in-law Harvey (Linda) McGrane of Hewitt; sisters-in-law Mary (Bob) Roggenkamp of Bluffton, Carol (Ken) Mudek of Verndale, Julie (Brad) Swenson of Wadena; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of Jeff’s siblings, and Mark Litzow, Md., and the Bone Marrow Transplant Team, Josh Richter, Neil and Tammy Schlichting, Gary and Bev Krell, and Ethel Becker.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Richter, Darrell Richter, Doug Richter, Tyler Ehrmantraut, Roman Moench and Gregg Goeden.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Wadena.

Arrangements are with the Schuller Family Funeral Homes in Wadena. (
