Janson leads Wolverines at Park Rapids
Neil Janson posted a 17th place finish in the Park Rapids Invitational Monday and led the Wadena-Deer Creek boys to a ninth-place finish.
Janson's 17:25.00 time paced a team effort that saw the Wolverines score 235 points in the 12-team meet. WDC's Shane Motschenbacher placed 45th with a time of 18:43.91, Tony Ross was 56th with a 19:02.12, Joey Pate was 65th with a 19:42.88 and Forrest McQuiston finished 70th with a 20.04.43.
Sam Stoll ran a 15:57.78 as Perham took top honors with 28. Seven Perham runners placed in the Top 15.
Hannah Toedter placed 27th for the Wolverines in the girls' meet with a 16:08.68. Mary McGrane finished 33rd with a 16:26.94.
Six Perham runners placed in the Top 15 as the Yellowjackets on the girls' meet with 25 points. Perham's Maddie McClellan ran a 14:06.23 for first place.
The Wolverines will now tune up for the section meet Oct. 31 at Bagley.
