Edith Isabelle (Buckley) Kingsley, 86, of Wadena, passed away March 21, 2010, at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
She was born to Wilfred A. and Marie A. (Goble) Buckley on June 6, 1923, in Sebeka.
Isabelle was united in marriage with Maurice D. Kingsley on Sept. 12, 1942, at St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena. She lived her entire life in the Wadena area, and the community will remember her as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone in years past. At home, her time was spent in caring for her family, flower gardening, reading, baking and needlework.
Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice, on Oct. 30, 1992; her parents, Wilfred and Marie; brothers, Darrell and Wallace Buckley; and a sister, Norma Olsborg.
Survivors include her son, Maurice Dean Kingsley of Wadena; daughters, Gloria (Kenneth) Anderson of Wadena, and Alice Jean (Leslie) Gronlund of Sebeka; six grandchildren, Debra Olson, Kelly Bain, Scott Anderson, Gregg Anderson, Jodee Finn and Angie Doty; 16 great-grandchildren, Brent Olson, Brittany Olson, Kayla Bain, Cody Bain, Ryan Freeman, LeAnna Freeman, Caitlyn Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Blake Anderson, Tyler Mueller, Carly Anderson, Alexis Mueller, Kirstan Finn, Courtney Finn, Holly Doty, and Garret Doty; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Gladys (Gervase "Dudes") Richter of Wadena, and Minette Blach of Puyallup, Wash.
Funeral services were set for 11 a.m. on Friday, March 26, at St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena, with the Rev. Stephen Meltzer officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Gervase Richter, Leslie Gronlund and Kenneth Anderson. Active pallbearers are Scott Anderson, Gregg Anderson, Russell Bain, Cody Bain, Mike Finn and Eric Doty. Interment was in the Wadena Cemetery in Wadena. Arrangements were with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena (www.johnsonmemorialhome.com).
