If you were just dreading the arrival of spring, you're in luck.

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks issued a "special weather statement" Saturday predicting a cold front moving through northwest Minnesota Sunday night, bringing "a few inches" of snow to Wadena and surrounding counties on Monday.

Excited? Wait, there's more.

"A stronger storm will move out of the Pacific Northwest into the Central Plains late Monday," the Weather Service said, "setting the stage for significant accumulations of snow Tuesday along with strong winds likely gusting over 30 mph in the Red River Valley."

The NWS said near blizzard conditions are likely from Monday night through early Wednesday, with the brunt of the storm Tuesday during the day and evening.

Sure, it will be snowy, but what about life-threatening cold, you ask? Wind chills will be from 25 to 40 below, the NWS said.
