Hawley ran away with the win against WDC 93-51

The Hawley Nuggets ran away with the win Dec. 19 against the WDC boys with a final score of 93-51.

The Wolverines ran into a deep and physically strong team with the Nuggets. The Nuggets were able to get the ball inside and rebound well to claim the victory.

The Wolverines were led in scoring by Jared Reinitz with 20 points followed by Dylan Dumpprope with 9 points. Dumpprope, a senior, also added eight rebounds against the strong section opponent.

Hornets clinch win in close game

The Frazee Hornets emerged victorious against the Wolverine boys basketball team Dec. 20.

The Wolverines struggled shooting from the floor which led to a 59-45 loss. They did a good job limiting turnovers throughout the game which led to several shots. However, they could only connect 28 percent of their attempts which also contributed to the loss.

Jared Reinitz led the Wolverines in scoring with 16 points. Blake Connell and Dylan Dumpprope also scored double figures.

Dumpprope and Isaac Laughlin shared the top spot in rebound leadership.

The Wolverines will play their first game of 2014 Friday night in Crosby at 7:15 p.m.
