Gravity well worth the price of admission
Gravity is getting lots of Oscar buzz and it is easy to see why. I watched Gravity in 3D and didn’t have a lot of high hopes for this film.
Remember Castaway? That movie won a lot of awards and I was completely bored with it. Not so with Gravity. There are similarities be-tween Castaway and Gravity in that both are films about someone lost and trying to survive. That is where the similarities end.
In this intense film, George Clooney plays veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski hoping to beat the record for the longest spacewalk. Unfortunately, he gets that opportunity when the shuttle he is on is hit by debris from an exploded Russian satellite. Kowalski and medical engineer Ryan Stone, played by Sandra Bullock, are the sole survivors of the shuttle. The situation is dire, as Kowalski and Stone are adrift in space and must try to find a way back to Earth.
Mishaps continue at every moment and the viewer will be on the edge of their seat due to the shear believability of the film. The movie is action packed, keeping the viewer both entertained and engaged in the film, completely unlike Castaway.
There are plenty of realistic GCI and sound effects to make the viewer feel they are right there beside the sur-vivors.
This film is anything but predicta-ble. The viewer will be kept guessing what is going to happen next and will find herself invested in the characters.
I encourage you to see this film, even if you don’t enjoy 3D films. This movie will surely win awards and is well worth the price of admission.
