The state-ranked Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines ran the Pelican Rapids Vikings right off their home court Monday night as they improved their season mark to 3-0.

The fourth-ranked Wolverines racked up victories of 25-15, 25-10 and 25-2 over the Vikes.

Brittney Noon recorded 11 kills while Courtney Volkmann had 28 assists and seven ace serves. Rachel Craig, Emily Miron and Rachael Carlisle combined for 21 blocks. Hope Theisen dominated the backcourt with 17 digs.

The Wolverines came up with 19 ace serves in the victory.

Sue Volkmann's veteran club out-scored the Vikings 39-2 over one stretch.

"We play so well together and our defense makes the offense go," Volkmann said. "We are serving really well and picking up a lot of ace serves, so we are able to score in many different ways."

Detroit Lakes 10-9-11

Hope Theisen and Mandy Perkins had 11 and 10 digs respectively as the Wolverines swept Mid-State Conference foe Detroit Lakes in a road contest Sept. 9.

Perkins and Theisen was also perfect at the serving line with a 19-for-19 and 18-for-18 performances.

Brittney Noon had 12 kills while Kelsi Crawford chipped in with nine. Rachel Craig had a team-high 10 blocks.
