Goeden leads Wolverines at Breezy Point

Jacob Goeden’s 82 led the way for the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines Wednesday as they placed 11th in the Deacon’s Invitational at Breezy Point.


Wesley Janson and Jordan Kern tied with rounds of 97. Adam Lund brought in a 101 while Jack Goeden fired a 115 and Creedan Dunrud shot a 124.

Co-medalist honors went to Fergus Falls’ Chris Swenson and Park Rapids’ Bailey Mueller. Both golfers shot a 73.

Staples-Motley won the team title with a 308. Fergus Falls was second with a 311.

Wolverines fire 434 at Vintage

Jordan Kern’s 105 paced the Wolverines Saturday as the WDC golfers shot a 434 team round in the Cardinal Invitational at The Vintage.

Also competing for the Wolverines were Tom and Matt Quincer, who shot rounds of 108 and 110; Wade Pieper, who came in with a 111; Adam Lund, who fired a 113; and Jack Goeden, who shot a 115.

Staples-Motley’s Andrew Israelson claimed medalist honors with a 70.

Shattuck St. Mary’s edged Staples-Motley by two strokes for top team honors with a 303.

Goeden cards 81 at Whitetail Run

Jacob Goeden’s 81 set the pace Friday as the Wolverines finished sixth in a seven-team Mid-Minnesota meet at Whitetail Run.

Wesley Janson brought in an 89, Adam Lund fired a 92, Thomas Quincer carded a 100, Jordan Kern shot a 105 and Matthew Quincer finished with a 116.

James Cragun of Crosby-Ironton, Andrew Israelson of Staples-Motley and Cody Mager of Pine River shared medalist honors with a round of 79.

The Wolverines shot a team round of 467, 37 strokes off the winning pace turned in by Staples-Motley.
