Glen Dale Fuller
Funeral services for Glen Dale Fuller of Wadena and formerly of Sebeka will be held 2 p.m. Jan. 5, 2013, at Wadena Alliance Church, with Pastor Vaughn White and Pastor Aaron Andrews presiding.
Glen passed away at the age of 83 Jan. 1, 2013, at Tri-County Health Care in Wadena.
Glen was born Oct. 26, 1929, to Walter and Gladys (Rhodes) Fuller in Madelia, Minn. Also, he moved with his family to a farm in Rockwood Township in January 1942, and later attended school at District 18 in Wadena County.
In 1948, at the age of 18, Glen enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and later served aboard the USS Evansville during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1952. Following his discharge, he bought a small farm in Rockwood Township and raised sheep. Glen also worked several jobs at Woolgrowers, Shell gas station and in construction.
In the fall of 1951, Glen met the love of his life, Phyllis Rosendahl, at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Wadena. They were married May 29, 1954.
Glen worked at Reserve Mining in Silver Bay, Minn., from 1956-1960, returning to the farm and to work on road construction for several years. For many years he farmed, raising hogs, beef and sheep, as well as milking cows and running a dog kennel.
In 1987, Glen retired from farming and started Rockwood Bargains in Staples, selling the business in 2003 for full retirement.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Gladys; sisters, Ruth Greeley, Betty Manselle and Norma Erickson; brothers, Clarence and Don; mother-in-law, Anna Pierson; father-in-law, Fred Rosendahl; stepfather-in-law, Art Pierson; and sister-in-law, Doris (Don) Berg.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons, Jeffrey (Nancy) of Brooklyn Center, Minn., Brian of Verndale and Troy (Shelly) of Evansville; daughters, Pamela (Bob) Allebach of Menahga, Glenda (James) Culbreath of Wadena and Jillene (Anthony) Piemonte of Detroit Lakes; 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild, with another due in January 2013; brothers, Walter J. (Alice) of White Bear Lake, John (Grozdana) of Elko, Minn., and Earl (Judy) of Apple Valley, Minn.; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Military Honors will be provided by the Elmer Goche Post 3922, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wadena.
Honorary pallbearers will be Walter J. Fuller and all of Glen's grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Fuller, Earl Fuller, Andrew Fuller, Thomas Fuller, Nathan Allebach and Troy Fuller, Jr.
Interment will be at Leaf River Cemetery in Wadena.
Arrangements are with Johnson-Schuller Chapel, a Schuller Family Funeral Home, in Wadena.
