Funds benefit area crisis center

Four youth with Bluffton's St. John the Baptist church raised nearly $3,000 for an area crisis organization, according to a press release sent to the Pioneer Journal.

After fundraising for almost two months, the youngsters gathered about $2,647 for the Wadena Area Crisis Pregnancy Center. The young individuals raised the money by asking people to fill baby jars and bottles with loose change, during the church's Lent season.

The press release added that the volunteers took on the project as part of a service challenge they were given during a Youth in Theology and Ministry summer camp program they attended a year ago.
