Free summer fun for kids in July in New York Mills, Wadena, Perham
Mid-summer activities will be available to kids in New York Mills, Perham and Wadena with free creative workshops, story times and a movie time centered on the July theme of Recycle, Reuse and Save the Planet. Students will learn how to create art utilizing items that would otherwise end up in the landfill and learn how important their actions are in helping to take care of our planet. Area families may bring their children to any of the listed activities free of charge.
From 2-3 p.m. on July 13 in Perham, Art In Your Park activities will take place in the park adjacent to the Perham Library. In the event of rain the activities will move to the library meeting room.
In New York Mills, Art In Your Park activities begin from 10 a.m. to noon on July 12 in Smith Park and 1-3 p.m. in Lund Park, and from 10 a.m. to noon on July 14 in Southside Park and 1-3 p.m. in Lund Park. From 10 a.m. to noon and also 1-3 p.m. on July 16, Art in Your Park will be in Central Park. If bad weather occurs the activities are moved to the Cultural Center.
Art In Your Park in Wadena will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on July 15 in Burlington Park and moved into the Depot if weather is prohibitive.
