Frank Coon Yetter, Jr.
A celebration of the life of Frank Coon Yetter, Jr., of Wadena will be held on Saturday, August 24, at 11 a.m. with an open house from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Johnson-Schuller Chapel in Wadena. Frank died July 11, 2013 at the age of 79 years at home in Wadena under hospice care, surrounded by family.
Frank was born January 30, 1934 to Dr. Frank Coon Yetter and Laura Edna Yetter (née Johnson) at Wesley Hospital in Wadena, MN. After an honorable discharge from the USAF in 1957, Frank attended NDSU and graduated with a degree in pharmacy in 1962. He was united in marriage to Sarah Gail Satterlee on October 12, 1957 in Minneapolis. They settled in Wadena in 1963 where Frank owned and operated Moore & Yetter Drug until 1980 with Duane Moore and later worked as a pharmacist at various pharmacies including Longbella Drug in Staples. Frank loved jazz, vacations in Hawaii, and summers at Lake Blanche in Otter Tail County.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ruth (Wes) Windmiller and Francess (Lewis) Richards, his niece Nancy Windmiller and grand-niece Megan Rostad.
Frank is survived in Wadena by his beloved wife Sarah; in St. Paul by their daughter Jane Ruth, son Steven Frank (Annie) and two grandchildren - Kathryn and George; by his nephews Ned (Chris) Windmiller and Thomas (Gail) Richards; his niece Laurie (Al) Rostad (née Richards); his grand-nephews Jesse (Brandi) Rostad, Max (Heidi) Windmiller and Andrew Richards; and his grand-nieces Mollie (Brandon Dixon) Windmiller, Whitney Windmiller and Elle Richards.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Friends of the Wadena City Library and the Wadena County Humane Society.
