Wadena-Deer Creek eighth-grader Rylie Langer finished fourth place in the 12-13 age category at the State Elks "Hoop Shoot" free-throw contest, Feb. 11 in Hutchinson, Minn. She shot 19 out of 25 frees, while the first-place winner, Tayan Barnes of Rochester, shot 21 out of 25 to advance to the regional competition. Langer reached the contest by winning competitions at Wadena and Brainerd.
