The Wolverines were whistled for 23 fouls while the visiting Lakers committed just eight. The Lakers took 34 free throw shots in the first Mid-State Conference encounter between the two clubs and converted on 22 of them.

The Wolverines went to the line for just three free throws and converted on one.

They did not fare well from the field, either, shooting a cool 30 percent.

"The Wolverines couldn't seem to find any rhythm in their offense as DL was mixing up their defenses," WDC head coach Keith Ferris said. "We need to find a way to attack zone defenses and obviously shoot better."

The Lakers held the Wolverines in check down low and limited WDC's tall lineup of Emily Miron, Rachel Craig, Kelsi Crawford and Melissa Moenkedick to a total of 15 points.

Point guard Courtney Volkmann led the Wolverines with 11 points.

The Lakers were led in scoring by 6-1 Courtney Gray and 6-0 Jenny Matter who scored 16 and 11 points respectively.
