The funeral service for FonaLee Nohrenberg will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena, with Pastor Stephen Meltzer officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. FonaLee passed away on April 2, 2014, at the Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena. She was 94 years old.
FonaLee was born to William and Ida (Jacob) Dorn II on October 14, 1919, in Sebeka, MN. FonaLee was united in marriage with Eldon Vernon Nohrenberg on January 27, 1938, in Wadena. It was there that she worked for the Peterson-Biddick Company for eight years and at Farmers Hatchery for over 30 years, until retiring in 1984. She was talented at sewing quilts, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and growing African violets. FonaLee was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, LWML Guild, Wadena Camera Club, and Wadena Garden Club.
FonaLee was preceded in death by her husband Eldon, parents William and Ida; brothers William (Bernadine) and Leon (DeVona) Dorn; sisters Bertha (Harry) Scofield and Vivian (Everett) Bragg; granddaughter Theresa Miller; and son-in-law John Miller.
She is survived by son Curtis (Karen) Nohrenberg of Belle Plaine; daughters Janice (Dale) Dobson of Wadena, Marlys (LeRoy) Miller of Circle Pines, and Carolyn (Doil) Williams of Buffalo ; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Gilster, David Gilster, Allen Scofield, David Dorn, Gordie J. Schlichting and Albert Holzer.
Burial will be in Wadena Cemetery.
