Floy Mae Raddohl, 88, of Nimrod, passed away Sunday, Sept. 3, at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1917, to Harry and Deema (Holler) Sams in Slope County, N.D., county seat Amidon. She was raised in the Badlands of North Dakota. She attended school in New England, N.D. She was united in marriage to Edward W. Raddohl Jr. on July 12, 1937, and they were married for 62 years. Her greatest desire was that all her family know the Lord as their Savior. She was an avid gardener and loved the country.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 at the Bielema Family Funeral Home in Wadena with the Rev. Daryl Jacobson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Casketbearers are Tommy Rishovd, Jeff Gearey, Chad Gearey, Randy Morrow, Jason Raddohl, Chad Baumgartner and Brett Baumgartner. Honorary casketbearers are Kimberly Day, Kristin McCall, April Emahiser, Jody DeSmet, Mindy Rechelbacher, Tracy Morrow, Lisa Pearson, Tanya Raddohl, Kami Walker and Mandy Raddohl.
Survivors include her daughters, Yalanda (Tom) Rishovd of Rochester, Terry Morrow of Richfield, and LaVee (Alan) Gearey of Elko; sons, Mickey of Staples, Curtis of Nimrod, and Kevin (Sandy) of Staples; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; step-brothers, Harold George of Sauke Ville, Wis., Leslie George of Washington state; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Edward on Sept. 24, 1999; son, Jackie Edward; sister, Beulah Sams Graham; brothers, Lafayette and Lloyd Sams; step-brother, Ervin George.
