Five Wings awards two community grants
Two community grants were recently awarded by the Five Wings Arts Council in the small grants program. This program provides up to $1,000 and is designed for first-time organizational applicants in Cass, Crow Wing, Wadena, Morrison and Todd Counties. It assists those organizations wishing to take advantage of new or late-breaking opportunities which do not allow time to apply within the regular community access grant cycle. Applications for these projects are on-going with no deadlines.
The Central Minnesota Boys Choir has been granted funds to incorporate as a 501(c)3 organization. The group's mission is to work with choir members, parents and professionals to develop talent, artistic opportunities and a quality musical resource for central Minnesota.
The Crossing Arts Alliance in Brainerd was awarded funding to underwrite the cost of a photographic workshop. This will be offered in conjunction with the 10th Annual Picturing Event on March 27 at the Franklin Arts Center. "Picturing" is a juried photographic exhibit with workshops, keynote speakers and presentation of awards.
