First round of bids
District 2155 school board took just 28 minutes in a May 3 meeting to approve 10 bids for work on the new Wadena-Deer Creek 5-12 school.
Kraus-Anderson senior project engineer Chad Rettke recommended the award of contracts to the following firms.

Geothermal Wells: Steffl Drilling & Pump Inc., Willmar, Minn., $777,777

Rettke said the total recommended bid packages are at $5,453,483, which is about $265,000 under budget. The second bid date will take place in late June. Rettke added that 100 percent of construction contracts will be bid out by July 5. The school is expected to be operating by September 2012.
