FFA's Dane Hoffman places second at state
Wadena-Deer Creek FFA member Dane Hoffman placed second in the state in Beef Proficiency.
Applications were judged at the Minnesota State FFA Convention. To qualify, Hoffman's Beef Proficiency was placed first in Region II FFA and then submitted to the State FFA Association. His proficiency included 23 head of registered South Devon Beef Cattle. The application was judge on size and scope of the project along with learned competencies. Part of the judging was interviews with Region II ag instructors on the students' knowledge of the beef industry.
Hoffman's accomplishments were honored at the Minnesota State FFA Convention Awards Banquet, North Star Ballroom, University of Minnesota, St. Paul. The Minnesota FFA Association sponsors awards in 44 proficiency areas with state and national corporate sponsorship. The Minnesota Beef Entrepreneurship is sponsored by the Minnesota Corn Growers Association.
