FFA members participate in FFA Region II Ag Mechanics event

Two Wadena-Deer Creek FFA members participated in the Region II FFA Agricultural Mechanics Career Development Events (CDEs) held at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.

Jordan Folkestad and Dylan Gilster competed in activities, such as tool identification, small gas engine part identification, electrical wiring, and a written test on conservation practices. The FFA members also TIG welded and identified parts of a skid steer loader. Region II FFA composes of 19 FFA Chapters in the Northeast third of the state.

Placing sixth high individual was Dylan Gilster who had very high scores on conservation and TIG welding. This placing qualifies Gilster for state competition. The State Ag Mechanics CDE will be conducted April 23rd during the Minnesota State FFA Convention held at the University of Minnesota, St Paul and Minneapolis campuses.
