Fergus Falls Dairy Queen announces fundraising campaign for Wadena Disaster Relief Fund
Steve and Linda Babcock, owners of the Fergus Falls Dairy Queen, have decided to launch a week-long fundraising campaign to raise money that will help rebuild the town. Starting Wednesday, June 23 the DQ plans to donate $1 of every Blizzard sold to the Wadena Disaster Relief Fund. The fundraiser will run through the weekend, ending June 27.
"We called Wadena home for many years," said Steve Babcock. "This fundraiser is a small thing we can do to aid that community."
There are no restrictions to the campaign; buying a Blizzard of any size puts $1 more in the Wadena Disaster Relief Fund. "We really hope the Fergus Falls community will join us in this effort," Linda added. "It's hot outside, let yourself indulge with a little ice cream and help out a lot of people in the process."
If you'd like to make a larger donation to the Wadena Disaster Relief Fund, you can give online by visiting www.giveMN.org and searching "Wadena Tornado." The first $12,500 raised online will be matched by the Initiative Foundation and West Central Initiative. Additionally, checks may be mailed to: Mid-Central Federal Savings Bank, PO Box 152, 520 South Jefferson Street, Wadena, MN 56482.
