Fairgrounds grandstand design approved
Wadena Commissioners unanimously approved a design for a new fairgrounds grandstand, during Tuesday's county board meeting.
The new design was proposed by architect Tony Stoll of BHH Partners in Perham. The old grandstand was destroyed by the June 17, 2010, tornado that ripped through Wadena.
The new grandstand design includes seating for 479 people, and restrooms and concession stands will likely be included beneath the seating area.
The cost for the project, estimated at $270,000, will be covered by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The grandstand could be completed in time for the 2013 county fair.
