Horse and carriage rides at WCHS's carnival June 20
The Wadena County Historical Society will present a historic carnival On Friday, June 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. as part of the June Jubilee Festival. One of the highlights at the carnival will be free horse and carriage rides by Clark Anderson. Anderson has been collecting vintage carriages and buggies since he was a teenager. Several of them will be on display on the museum grounds during the carnival. The Friday afternoon events also include music by the Tubador, a stilt-walker, re-enactors, fry bread and much more. In case of rain, activities will be held at the Armory.
Public Invited to "Race for the Cure" June 28
The public is invited to be part of Lakewood Health System's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure team. The event will take place Saturday, June 28 at Forestview Middle School in Baxter, 12149 Knollwood Drive. Please arrive at the Lakewood tent/booth at 8 a.m. to watch the survivor ceremony together and take a group photo.
Everyone who signs up on the Lakewood team will receive a free Lakewood t-shirt to wear at the event. Each participant pays a minimal fee of $12-$25 to be part of the event. Golf scramble at Whitetail Run slated for June 27
Friends of Whitetail Run Golf Course will hold its annual golf scramble Friday, June 27 beginning with registration at 10:30 a.m. There will be a shotgun start at 12 noon. Brats will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a steak dinner and awards will begin at 5 p.m. All prizes will be cash, based on the number of entries.
The annual fundraiser supports improvement projects at Whitetail Run Golf Course. Teams of four can register to play. There are also hole sponsorships and major sponsorship opportunities available.
