A celebration of life for Eleanor A. Barber, 83, of Hot Springs, Ark. is planned for Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. at the World Wide Christian Outreach, Hot Springs, Ark.

Eleanor Almeda (Eakle) Barber was born to Clarence and Marion (Borah) Eakle in Ada, Minn. on Dec 12, 1929. She graduated from Twin Valley High School in 1947 and went on to attend Fargo Business College. After graduation she was employed by Hart Motor Express in Bismarck, N.D. She married Charles E. Stapleton and had six children. Eleanor and the children lived in Twin Valley until 1968 when Eleanor moved to Wadena and married Howard E. Barber. She had twins there and moved to Hot Springs where she worked for WD Stanley Shows. Eleanor collected and sold antiques, enjoyed traveling, meeting people, planning events, playing cards, gardening, making crafts and collecting her many treasures. Eleanor had a heart of gold; she dearly loved her family and friends.

Eleanor was an active member of the churches she attended and she volunteered at the World Wide Christian Outreach's food shelf. Eleanor was honored as House Mother and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Hot Springs Showman's Association.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Howard, parents, brother, grandson and many of her other relatives.

She was survived by her eight children and their families: Nathan (Sissy) Stapleton of Hot Springs, Ark., Shane (Hilary) Stapleton of Brentwood, Tenn., Kim Theisen (Bill Skarka) of Wadena., Sue (Kevin) Helget of Franklin, Minn., Steve (Annie) Stapleton of Hot Springs, David Stapleton (Alice) of Hot Springs, Jeff (Karen) Barber of Hot Springs, Valerie (Wes) Davenport of Hot Springs; her sister, Lola (Roger) Wemager of Lake Park, Minn., and their five children; her sister-in-law Lorraine Eakle and her two children; 29 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and all of their families. Sis, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Aunt, Ellie we love you and we miss you!
